Lac
de Pont, archaïsche vestiging, monolitische structuren,
ijzerconstructies van 1882.
Architectuur:
spel van vorm en lijnen, licht en schaduw, kleur, materie.
Om
nog meer structuur, authenticiteit, gelaagdheid en historiciteit
toe te voegen maakte ik negatieven van de digitale beelden en
printte die op aquarelpapier, gesensibiliseerd met ijzerzouten.
Hierdoor refereren ze naar de historische blauwdrukken binnen de
architectuur.
BLAUWDRUK
Cyanotypie,
uitgevonden door Hershel in 1842, is een contactafdruk procedé
gebaseerd op de lichtgevoeligheid van ijzerzouten.
In de architectuur werd deze techniek gebruikt voor bouwkundige
tekening en ook blauwdruk genoemd. Lange tijd werd die gebruikt
voor het reproduceren van bouwplannen. De tekening in
Oost-Indische inkt op lichtdoorlatend kalkeerpapier werd op het
gesensibiliseerde papier geplaatst en belicht. De lijnen die het
licht niet door laten blijven wit na ontwikkeling en zo ontstaat
een witte tekening op een blauwe achtergrond.
Deze
techniek die in de bouwsector tot einde van de twintigste eeuw
gebruikt werd is nu vervangen door CAD (Computer Aided Design)
en het afdrukken met plotters en grote printers.

In
order to add even more structure, authenticity, layering and
historicity to the picture I made analogue negatives from the
digital images and printed them out on watercolor paper that was
sensitized with iron salts. In this way, they refer to the
historical blueprints within architecture.
BLUEPRINT
Cyanotype,
invented in 1842 by Hershel, is a contact printing process based
on the light sensitivity of iron salts. In architecture, this
technique was used for architectural drawing and was named
blueprint. For a long time, it has been used for reproducing
building plans. The drawings in East Indian ink on transparent
lime paper were placed on the sensitized paper and expose to
UV-light. The lines that don’t let the light pass through remain
white after development, creating a white drawing on a blue
background.
Nowadays,
this technique that was used in the construction sector until
the end of the twentieth century, has been replaced by CAD
(Computer Aided Design) and printing techniques with plotters
and large printer.
